Getting Started
- Download and print the appropriate installation template for
your grill:
-
Single Grill
-
Double Grill
-
Triple Grill
NOTE: The triple grill requires a template that is larger than a
standard sheet of paper but you can use 2 sheets taped together
or printed on 11x17 inch paper. If you would like to save your
template and use it again, we recommend cutting your template
from open office file folder. This will make a sturdy template
that can be used again and again.
- Cut out your template.
- Check the size of your template by holding it against your
grill to ensure the template printed at the correct size and
fits the grill you've chosen.
- Mask off the area where you plan to cut using painter's tape
to will help prevent chipping and scratching as you make your
cuts.
Note: Whenever possible, use blue or green painter's tape
instead of masking tape as it comes off more easily and will not
leave sticky residue on your case.
-
Lay out your paper template on the taped surface.
- Use a ruler to center your template by measuring from the
edges of your case to the edges of your template. Once you have
it placed where you want it, hold the template in place a bit of
tape.
- Use your fine point marker to trace the template onto the
tape, then remove the template to reveal your cutting lines.
- Position your case so that you can comfortably cut the
opening.
- Use your cutting tool to cut along the center of your lines,
creating the opening.
- File rough edges using a file, paying careful attention to
stay within your template lines.
- Position your grill over the hole and use your pen to mark
your screw holes.
- If you have a center punch, use it to mark the center of
your holes before you drill to keep the bit from "walking"
around as you drill your screw holes. On some cases, or in some
installation where holes are close to the edge of your cut, we
recommend you drill a small pilot hole before switching to the
9/64 bit for your final hole.
-
Place your grill on the case for a test fitting.
Kikboxes
grills are designed to mount to the fan or radiator first, then
to the case. Use the long screws provided in your screw kit to
mount your fans or radiator to the grill(s). You can do this
with a Philips-head screwdriver and a crescent wrench or socket.
- Mount the fan/radiator assembly to your case.
- Put the grill in position by placing the radiator or fans
through the hole you created. If the hole is too tight you can
make minor adjustments with your file. Once you have a good
fit, remove the painter's tape from your case and fasten the
grill assembly to the case with the short bolts from the
mounting kit.
- Enjoy!
